Prof. Chan Man Nin is an Associate Professor in the Department of Earth and Environmental Sciences, Faculty of Science, at The Chinese University of Hong Kong, where he has served since 2014. His research focuses on ambient air pollution, with particular emphasis on the sources, chemical characteristics, and transformation processes of particulate matter (PM). Professor Chan leads a research group that conducts laboratory and chamber studies to investigate the formation and evolution of PM. His work aims to advance the understanding of PM sources, chemical composition, and concentration, thereby contributing to improved air quality assessment and management. In particular, his recent research places strong emphasis on organosulfur compounds in PM and their implications for air quality, human health, and environmental processes. He received his Ph.D. in Environmental Science and Engineering from the California Institute of Technology. Prior to joining CUHK, he was a postdoctoral fellow in the Chemical Sciences Division at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory.
